My name is Nick Esposito, and I’m from the New Haven area in Connecticut. I came to the University of New England to study marine biology and aquaculture. My immediate plans for after graduation is establish myself in Maine as an aquaculturist.
I’m shooting pretty high in my overall life goal. I would like to settle down here in New England, eastern Canada, or Iceland and open a pub. How does that match up with what I’m doing here at UNE? Well I’m glad you asked hypothetical reader. I want my pub to have aquaculture and aquaponics as a source of food and drink. Fun fact: alcohol brewing is technically aquaculture. As my aquaculture professor said, “it’s the cultivation of living things in a liquid environment.”
